The Stargate Group is a solutions provider to the financial services industry. A recognised leader in the provision of lending services and systems, Stargate powers a large proportion of the non-bank financial services market through its suite of proprietary core components including automated underwriting technologies, business process outsourcing solutions, lender enterprise “ERP” systems and web-based business management packages.

With over 30 years industry experience, Stargate has worked with major lenders, mortgage insurers, rating agencies, credit reporting bureaus, hundreds of mortgage originators and brokers, settlement service providers and third party IT vendors. Stargate’s success can be attributed to an ongoing commitment to delight its large customer network through continual innovation and quality profit-maximising solutions.

Extensive Industry Knowledge and Experience

Stargate’s foundations lay in the development of enterprise systems for Interstar Securities Pty Ltd (now Challenger Mortgage Management), one of Australia’s largest, non-bank specialist home loan wholesaler.

In 1998, anticipating the future convergence of the mortgage market and the Internet, Stargate expanded its product and customer base by developing technologies focused on process automation and “self-service”. Its first web products were Extranets, connecting lenders with large disparate origination networks. Next followed “self-service” web portals and telephone banking interfaces enabling borrowers to manage their loan accounts and obtain free online loan statements. These products were industry firsts for the non-bank lending market and were followed up by a string of successful Stargate initiatives.

2008 -	Successfully integrated the Symmetry solution powering the Loan Market Group (consisting of X-Inc & eMoca) providing CRM, lead management, marketing, accounting and business management functions for over 600 users.
2008 –	loanPack implements a processing solution for Paladin Wholesale Funding providing outsourced contract underwriting services.
2008 -	Standard & Poor's reaffirms its rating of Stargate Financial Services Pty Ltd - the legal entity of loanPACK upgrading many categories from 'Above Average' to ‘Strong’
2007 -	Successfully implemented the Symmetry solution powering Specialist Mortgages providing CRM, lead management, marketing, accounting and business management functions for over 180 users.
2007 -	Implemented a processing overflow solution for RAMS Home Loans providing outsourced contract underwriting services.
2007 -	May - Stargate developed the technology behind StreetAdvisor.com, the world’s first online community for real life reviews at the street level. www.StreetAdvisor.com provides a platform for the distribution of “inside” user generated content on every street across 26 countries. Launched in San Francisco, the site was featured on CNN Money, LA Times in addition to some of the largest technology sites including Techcrunch.com. The site uses the latest in AJAX technologies combined with integrated mapping, video and photo capabilities. Over 500,000 streets have been visited in the first 6 weeks since release.
2007 -	(April) WorldOriginate™ platform passes the $50billion mark of applications processed
2007 -	The smartVAL valuation management platform processes 15,000 valuation instructions from its panel of lenders.
2007 -	(March) Stargate processes over 18,000 loan applications worth in excess of $4Bn across both the servicing and technology divisions representing a significant portion of the Australian mortgage landscape
2007 -	Successfully implemented the Symmetry solution powering Virgin Money providing CRM, lead management, marketing, accounting and business management functions.
2007 -	Successfully implemented the Symmetry solution powering Refund Home Loans providing CRM, lead management, marketing, accounting and business management functions to over 130 Users
2007 -	Successfully developed the next generation of broker toolkits for ANZ, utilising smart client technology with real-time synchronisation to over 8,000 brokers.
2007 -	Stargate Group wins MFAA Excellence Award in the category of Best Support Services Provider.
2006 -	Successfully introduced the Starworks process to ANZ bank, providing outsourced services for their Franchise Distribution Channel.
2006 -	Corporate restructure, resulting in the establishment of the Stargate Group with Servicing Operations, Technology Services and Finance & Administration divisions.
2006 -	Launched Lending Central, an online resource collecting product information, news, and industry events.
2005 -	Successfully launched SmartVAL, piloting with some of the countries largest lenders. SmartVal automates the distribution and management of valuations and SLA’s while providing XML valuation data for financial institutions.
2005 -	Successfully implemented a WorldOriginate™ solution powering RAMS Home Loans, one of Australia’s leading financial institutions. The system automates all lending rules, workflow and assessment criteria with integrated links to all mortgage insurers, credit reporting agency, SMS/Email communications and valuers.
2005 -	Standard & Poor's rates Stargate Financial Services Pty Ltd - the legal entity of Starworks - with the worlds only Residential Loan (Application Processing) Servicer ranking. The ranking of 'Above Average' reflects our sophistication and expertise in the area of mortgage packaging and processing.
2004 -	Achieved over 100 companies and 500 Users using “Symmetry” (1200 users in 2007).
2003 -	Interstar sold.
2003 -	Successfully implemented a WorldOriginate™ solution powering CUSCAL’s securitisation and Credit Union lending programs. The system automates all lending rules, workflow and assessment criteria with integrated links to all mortgage insurers, credit reporting agency, settlement service providers and valuers.
2003 -	Expanded Starworks services to include Lender Processing, providing outsourced credit underwriting & settlement servicing for non-bank lenders. This service has since expanded to provide Back-up Servicing and Overflow Credit Underwriting for Australian ADI's.
2002 -	Launched “Symmetry” – Australia’s first loan origination/business management software, based on .Net and XML technologies. Symmetry provides powerful database, CRM, marketing, accounting and business management functions.
2001 -	Launched "Starworks" - Australia's first loan packaging service, aimed at providing outsourced back office processing functions for mortgage originators, brokers and aggregators. Has processed in excess of $7 billion since creation.
2000 -	Moved to current office location at Victoria Gardens.
1999 -	Launched the industry-changing platform, WorldOriginate™, Australia’s first “web-based” automated underwriting system for lenders and loan introducers.
1998 -	Formed Stargate Technologies & Stargate Financial Services.
1992 -	Developed the Holocron & Datacron “core-lending” systems for Interstar Securities, one of the countries largest non-bank lenders. Included the first Internet banking system of any non-bank lender.
1990 -	Created Interstar, one of the pioneers of the Australian non-bank mortgage industry.

Strategic Direction

Strategically, Stargate has partnered with major industry participants to foster an environment of innovation and growth. Key partners within Australia include Credit Reporting bureau (Veda Advantage Ltd), Mortgage Insurers (Genworth Financial, PMI Mortgage Insurance), Settlement Service providers (First Australian Title, Wignalls) and a variety of Lenders, mortgage originators and valuers.

Overseas, Stargate has worked with customers in the United States, including members of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (through its development of the Societas web portal) and is highly proficient in understanding global mortgage product offerings.

Stargate will continue to develop and leverage its leadership in all areas of the mortgage industry to achieve paperless, electronic delivery of mortgages and other financial services.
